One person was arrested after the Plymouth Police Department was notified of a motorcycle and a sedan racing on U.S. 30. Friday, June 7.
Officers located the vehicles in excess of 80 mph at U.S. 30 and Oak. A traffic stop was conducted on the sedan. Another traffic stop was attempted on the motorcycle. Upon activating emergency lights, the motorcycle failed to yield and took off at a high rate of speed. The motorcycle’s speed reached an excess of 130 mph and the pursuit was terminated.
Officers notified Kosciusko County of the fleeing vehicle. A short time later Kosciusko County deputies and troopers with the Indiana State Police located the motorcycle pulling into an apartment complex where deputies made contact with the suspect and took him into custody.
Indiana State Police transported the suspect, Shomari Willis, 23, of Kosciusko County, to the Marshall County Jail where he was booked into the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of reckless driving and resisting law enforcement.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
