A traffic stop conducted by a Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputy Saturday, June 22 just after 7 p.m. ET resulted in the arrest of the driver.
The officer stopped a silver 2017 silver Chevrolet pickup truck on U.S. 30 near Elm Road for traffic infractions.
The driver was identified as Cesar Arevalo of Chicago, IL. The officer noticed alleged impairment in the driving and the behavior of Arevalo. When asked to do a field sobriety test Arevalo refused, according to the report.
A search warrant for blood was applied for and granted. Police say Arevalo tested for over three times the legal blood alcohol content at .273%.
He was arrested and charged with a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
