A man was arrested Saturday, June 8 after officers from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department received a call that an intoxicated man was threatening a woman with a firearm.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, Bremen Police Department officers arrived on scene first and were able to de-escalate the scene. While investigating the incident, it was determined that the male, Chad Barnaby, 52, had allegedly pointed a firearm at a member of his family. Additionally, officers were informed that he had reportedly placed his hands around the neck of one of the individuals.
Barnaby was transported to the hospital where he received jail clearance and was then transported to the Marshall County Jail. Barnaby was booked into jail on preliminary charges of pointing a firearm, domestic battery, strangulation, and intimidation.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
