The Bourbon Town Council received several updates during their June meeting.
Council member Jonah Best updated the Council on the Matchett Event Center. It was discussed at a previous meeting to explore ways to maintain the building and increase marketing efforts to secure more reservations. The Council discussed the need to replace the ice maker and repair or replace the cooling unit in the fridge. Quotes will be obtained.
Brett Lackey presented the US 30 West ProPEL Briefing to the Council. The study is in the Level 2 Analysis Phase. In Bourbon, two intersections have been identified as primary intersections at this time which are US 30 and Fir Road and US 30 and SR 331. At Fir, the concepts advancing are to add / extend the acceleration and deceleration turn lanes and underpass / overpass. At 331, the screening process indicated that the exchange meets current design standards. The full report is available online at ProPEL30.com.
