Plymouth Man Arrested on Theft, Battery Charges

A Plymouth man was arrested Thursday, February 15 at 2:45 a.m. ET after the Plymouth Police Department officers responded to a call concerning a battery and theft.

Police say the incident occurred at the BP gas station on North Michigan Street where the store employee said he was battered and a theft occurred.

Police were able to review camera footage and identified the subject as Calvin Hickey, 19, of Plymouth, according to the report. Hickey was known to reside in an apartment in the downtown area.


When officers made contact with Hickey, he reportedly began resisting law enforcement and battered police.

Hickey was taken into custody and once medical clearance was obtained he was transported to the Marshall County Jail.


Hickey is facing preliminary criminal charges of operating while intoxicated over .15, illegal consumption, theft, battery, resisting law enforcement, and battery on law enforcement.

Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.

Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
