The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety met Monday, February 12 for their regular meeting where Plymouth Fire Department Chief Steve Holm updated the board on the current hiring process.
The department received three qualified applicants; one was a Firefighter Paramedic while the other two are Firefighter EMTs.
Internal interviews were scheduled for Tuesday, the written test will be held Saturday. A physical agility test will follow successful completion of those tests after which Chief Holm will come before the board with his recommendation.
Chief Holm also recognized Firefighter Justyn Wade as the Marshall County Fire Association’s Firefighter of the Year for his effective response to a critical vehicle accident.
Wade handled the scene until paramedics arrived caring for two critical patients and a car fire.
“Justyn handled it very well!” said Chief Holm.
Mayor Robert Listenberger congratulated Wade for a recognition that was well deserved.
