During the consent agenda portion of the February 20 meeting of the John Glenn School Corporation Board meeting, the resignation of John Barron was approved.
Barron was a teacher and head varsity football coach at John Glenn High School. Earlier this month, Barron was charged with misdemeanor battery of a student and placed on administrative leave. During Tuesday’s meeting, no comments were made by the board or the public concerning this resignation.
Superintendent Christopher Winchell later communicated that the school corporation is working on finding his replacement and that the school is “…committed to supporting the football family in a way that maintains all of the momentum the boys have derived from the end of last season.”
