A Chesterton man was arrested Friday, January 5 just before 3 a.m. ET after he was pulled over for a traffic infraction by a Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputy in the area of U.S. 30 and U.S. 31.
Police say the driver, Drew Motley, gave a false name and date of birth. The driver had also been drinking and later resisted officers during the incident, according to the report.
Motley allegedly refused tests and a warrant for his blood was obtained. He had a blood alcohol level above .15 and was transported to the jail where he was booked on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, resisting, and false informing. Along with the traffic infraction, Motley had a suspended driver’s license.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
