An Indianapolis man was arrested Christmas Day after a traffic stop conducted by Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputies.
The traffic stop was conducted in the area of U.S. 31 and U.S. 6 at 7:40 p.m. ET after a white pickup truck was seen with reportedly only one headlight and no functional taillights. Police say it was found that the driver did not possess a valid license to operate the vehicle and neither did the passenger.
The driver, identified as 28-year-old Meliton Cenobio Garcia, was transported to the Marshall County Jail. The passenger was taken to the Pilot Truck Stop, and Reichert and Knepp towed the vehicle back to their facility.
Meliton Garcia was booked and lodged on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle without ever receiving a license.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
