On Sunday, December 17th, 2023 at approximately 7:58 PM, Marshall County Officer Wozniak initiated a traffic stop on a white 2000 Buick LeSabre on US 30 in the area of King Road.
During the investigation, a Marshall County Canine Officer responded to the scene and utilized his canine partner “Diesel” for a free-air sniff. The canine alerted to the presence of narcotics and the vehicle was searched.
The officers located multiple syringes, legend drugs, and suspected fentanyl. The driver, Darrin J. Whitehurst, and passenger, David D. Hopkins, were both transported to the Marshall County Jail.
Once in the jail, Whitehurst was found to be concealing suspected methamphetamine on his person.
Whitehurst was processed for unlawful possession of a syringe and possession of methamphetamine. Hopkins was processed for unlawful possession of a syringe and
possession of a legend drug.
