A New Haven man was arrested early Tuesday, December 12 after deputies from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department were alerted to a man reportedly breaking into a window at the Bourbon Travel Center on Beech Road in Bourbon just before 2 a.m. ET.
An officer arrived on the scene and saw the man running through the business, according to the report. The officer pursued the subject and was alerted by the calling party that the suspect ran through the wooded area to the north.
Police say the officer went to a residence in the 1100 block of 12B Road where dogs could be heard barking and searched the property locating a man who matched the description given and was hiding in the bed of a pickup truck in the driveway.
The officer was able to take the man into custody without incident. The man was identified as Isaiah N. Faurote of New Haven, Indiana. He was transported to the Plymouth hospital for jail clearance and was then taken to the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of burglary, theft, resisting law enforcement, criminal mischief, and illegal consumption of alcohol.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
