Plymouth Community School Board Approves Surplus Items

Several pieces of equipment being replaced in renovations at two of the Plymouth Community School Corporation buildings will be on sale soon.

Renovations to the Washington Discovery Academy have replaced some large storage boxes at the school. Josh Overmyer, principal at the school, asked for permission to sell the boxes with the proceeds to be placed in the school fund towards student activities.

Plymouth High School Athletic Director Josh Troyer asked for permission from the board to sell 15 pieces of exercise equipment that was in use at the high school weight room.

The machines were past warranty but still have value. The proceeds from the sale would go towards the replacement of the pieces at the high school.

The value in each case was approximately $4,500. The board declared the property surplus and available for sale.

Additionally, several service contracts were discussed. The board gave permission to seek quotes to provide internet service for the corporation.

A proposal of services for engineering for current projects in the corporation was presented from Barton Coe Vilamaa. The proposal would allow the company to begin engineering those projects so that they can be put out to bid.

The board voted to move the January meeting from January 2 to January 9 due to the holiday.  The next meeting of the Plymouth Community School Corporation Board will be December 5 at 7 p.m. ET.
