The Marshall County Commissioners approved the request made by Judge Dean Colvin, President of Marshall County Community Corrections (MCCC) Advisory Board to approve the appointment of Andrew “Beau” Holcomb as the new Director.
Holcomb is currently the Head Jailer at the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department (MCSD). Judge Colvin assured the Commissioners that an exhaustive recruiting effort was conducted to attract the highest talent and qualification to the position. Several applications were reviewed by an Executive Committee within the MCCC Advisory Board.
At the conclusion of their deliberations among who to choose from the strongest candidates the committee recommended Holcomb for the position. The advisory board approved that recommendation.
Holcomb stated, “I would like to thank the committee and advisory board for giving me an opportunity. I look forward to the challenge if approved by the Commissioners. I look forward to meeting the team and building a connection with them and getting to work.”
Judge Colvin informed the Commissioners that Holcomb has been an employee of Marshall County since 2001 working with the MCSD- making him no stranger to the correctional facilities in Marshall County.
Holcomb’s official start date will be November 27, 2023 which will begin on a new pay period.
In other news the Commissioner’s also approved the Indiana Department of Corrections – MCCC Grant Agreement for 2024 in the amount of $489,766. That funding supports the functions of MCCC including the Director’s position.
