A Plymouth resident was arrested Sunday, October 1 just after 3 a.m. ET after a Plymouth officer observed an electric bicycle riding east on Jefferson at a high rate of speed. The bicycle appeared to be followed by a vehicle as they traveled to Fifth Street.
Police say the rider turned east onto Madison Street without stopping or signaling turns.
When the officer attempted to make a traffic stop, the rider, identified as Tristen H. Moyer, 21, of Plymouth, turned down an alley before crashing.
Moyer was taken into custody and taken to the hospital, and then taken to the Marshall County Jail facing preliminary criminal charges of operating while intoxicated, and resisting law enforcement.
In a separate incident Friday, September 29, Plymouth officers on routine patrol in Centennial Park at 11:45 p.m. ET located a suspicious vehicle with four occupants.
The driver of the vehicle was Joseph B. Richie, 18, of Walkerton. One of the occupants was determined to be a juvenile.
Police say suspected THC liquid and marijuana were located in the vehicle.
Richie was reportedly found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. He was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a juvenile passenger, operating while intoxicated, and possession of marijuana.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
