A motor vehicle accident at Lake of the Woods Saturday, September 16 resulted in an arrest.
The accident occurred at 3A Road and Abbott Street and an officer with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene at 8:31 p.m. ET.
It was found that the driver of the truck involved, Daniel Venice, had reportedly hit a stopped motorcycle, driven by Christopher DeMatteo, at the stop sign of Northshore and 3A.
DeMatteo was taken to the hospital for treatment. Police say it was later found that Venice had methamphetamine in his vehicle. He agreed to take a blood test due to the accident involving injury, according to the report.
Possible charges are pending with results of the blood test. Venice was arrested on a preliminary charge of possession of methamphetamine.
Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
