A Culver woman was arrested Monday, August 14 after Plymouth Police Department officers were called to the intersection of Jefferson and Oak for a driver that appeared passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle.
Officers identified the driver as Amy Jo Ashley, 40. Officers were forced to make entry into the vehicle window before she became alert, according to the report. The Plymouth Fire Department assisted at the scene and transported the driver to the hospital to be evaluated by medical staff.
Ashley was reportedly found to be intoxicated nearly two times over the legal limit.
She was arrested on preliminary charges of operating while intoxicated, endangering, and possession of a legend drug.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
