Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a 911 call Thursday, August 3 at 3 a.m. ET for a report of a battered female at the Speedway gas station in LaPaz.
Officers investigated the incident at a residence on South Michigan Street and determined that Michael E. Roark of LaPaz was the suspect and took him into custody.
He was arrested on preliminary charges of strangulation and misdemeanor battery.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
