An Elkhart woman was arrested Friday, August 18 following a traffic stop.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department K9 unit conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle in the area of Veterans Parkway and Michigan Road at 7:45 p.m. ET.
The driver was identified as 27-year-old Katelynn Heitzel of Elkhart and there was a juvenile passenger in the vehicle.
During the stop, suspected controlled substances were located in the vehicle. Heitzel was transported to the Marshall County Jail on a preliminary charge of possession of a controlled substance.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
A suspect is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
