Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputies were summoned to a domestic incident Wednesday, August 23 at 2:40 a.m. ET in the area of Redwood Road between 1st Road and Tyler.
During the investigation, it was reportedly found that no battery had occurred but that the male involved, Armando W. Castillo, 25, of South Bend had fled the area on foot. Officers attempted to locate him but were unable to do so.
It was a short time later when officers were advised by dispatch that he had returned. An officer was still at the scene and was able to locate Castillo who allegedly failed to comply with verbal commands and again attempted to flee on foot.
Officers pursued him and were able to contain him in a tall grassy area where he tried to hide, according to the report. Additional officers arrived and assisted in taking Castillo into custody. Castillo was taken to the hospital for medical examination and then taken to the Marshall County Jail. He faces preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement and public intoxication.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
