A Culver woman was arrested Wednesday, July 26 following an investigation by police.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, Culver police and Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a residence on 18B Road on a report of a battery in progress.
Officers identified the suspect in the battery as 28-year-old Ashley Humes of Culver. Police say the investigation found that Humes had strangled and battered the victim. Suspected methamphetamine, controlled substances, and drug paraphernalia were also located in Humes’ vehicle.
Humes was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked on preliminary charges of strangulation, battery with moderate bodily injury, and possession of methamphetamine, a controlled substance, and paraphernalia.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
