Chase Leads to Arrest

Plymouth Police Department officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop Monday, July 24 just before 9 p.m. ET when the suspect vehicle proceeded to accelerate at a high rate of speed as it turned from Michigan Street to the U.S. 30 East onramp.

The driver of the vehicle, Charles Elmore, 38, of Plymouth came to a stop on U.S. 30 East near the Plymouth-Goshen Trail intersection.

Elmore was suspected of driving the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. While attempting to detain him, police say he actively resisted and was taken to the Marshall County Jail for operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a prior conviction and resisting law enforcement.

Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.

Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
