The Bourbon Town Council recently approved $500 requested by the Bourbon Fire Department Chief Chad Stepp for the annual fireworks show during the Bourbon Summer Fest which is held every second weekend of August.
In other news, the annual Sit Park Fundraiser will be held on Sunday, July 23 beginning at 6 p.m. ET in the Gazebo Park downtown. Quentin Flagg will begin performing at 6 p.m. Hot dogs and refreshments will be available. Free-will donations in any amount are accepted and appreciated. Money raised from the event funds the fireworks.
According to Chief Stepp, it costs $3,500 to put on a 15 minute fireworks show.
Chief Stepp also updated the council that the department has received three calls since the last meeting; one auto accident, one grass fire, and one vehicle fire.
