Bourbon Clerk-Treasurer Kim Berger presented information on a donation to the Bourbon Town Council during their recent meeting.
The council approved the acceptance of a donation made by the Barbara Miller Family in the amount of $150 towards Emergency Services in Bourbon. According to Berger, the family of Miller expressed gratitude to the Bourbon Police Department, the Bourbon Fire Department and Lutheran Emergency Medical Services (EMS) who responded to the tragic vehicle accident during which Miller passed away.
Additionally, a representative from the Michiana Area Council of Governments (MACOG) visited Berger regarding the potential for an electric car charging station in the Town of Bourbon. Berger informed the council that the station would take five parking spaces. With the 80/20 match, the town would be responsible for $10,000 if the town applied for and was approved for the grant for the project. She could not confirm the need in the Town of Bourbon at the present time for an electric car charging station, and did inform the council that these are not the rapid charging stations but would take an hour or more to charge an electric car to go 25 miles.
