Troyer Group representatives updated the LaPaz Town Council on the progress of a parks project at a recent meeting.
Troyer Group presented the Council members with a timeline of the project starting with completing the design and construction documents through May, public hearings and grant applications to be filed by the end of May. The plans can be up for OCRA approval and if all goes well they will start seeking bids in July and have bid approval in August. They are hopeful that construction on the new park can begin right after Labor Day.
The deconstruction of the old park should be complete by the end of May. The LaPaz Fire Department will assist in most of the teardown. Marshall County and the Town of Bourbon both donated dump trucks to help dispose of refuse.
Troyer Group presented a proposal of $23,000 plus reimbursable expenses for their services to be approved by the town council. Services will include designed construction documents, work with contractors on any questions that may arise, reviewing bids and helping the council choose the right bid for the job, construction administration and project close-out through OCRA. Payments would be billed monthly for work done the previous month.
The proposal, as presented, was passed unanimously by the Lapaz Town Council members.
