The Indiana State Police and the DEA are teaming up again for the 24th Drug Take Back Day Saturday, April 22 at all Indiana State Police posts with the exception of the Toll Road Post.
Drug Take Back events are a safe, popular and responsible way to legally dispose of prescription drugs, and it is anonymous.
With the rates of prescription drug abuse, poisonings and overdoses in the U.S. being alarmingly high and flushing unused medications down the toilet or throwing them in the trash posing potential safety and health hazards, Drug Take Back events seek to prevent prescription drug abuse and theft through the proper disposal of prescription drugs.
Items that will be accepted include expired, unused or unwanted prescription drugs, in liquid or pill form, vaping pens without the batteries and vaping cartridges. New or used needles will not be accepted.
This event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time at any Indiana State Police Post, except the Toll Road Post.
Drop-off bins are also available all year round at the Starke, Marshall and Pulaski County Sheriff’s Departments.
