PLYMOUTH — The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety heard bids for police vehicles.
City of Plymouth Attorney Sean Surrisi opened bids submitted for police vehicles. Plymouth Police Chief David Bacon read the bids.
A bid from Fletcher Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM out of Franklin, IN came in at $38,519 per vehicle for the 2023 Dodge Durango Pursuit and $34,892 per vehicle for the 2023 Dodge Charger Police.
A bid from Warsaw Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM / Warsaw Buick-GMC came in at $36,994 per vehicle for the 2023 Dodge Charger Police; $39,939 per vehicle for the 2023 Dodge Durango V6; and $42,934 per vehicle for the 2023 Dodge Durango V8.
A bid from Metz Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Nappanee came in for $35,750 per vehicle for the 2023 Dodge Police Charger and $39,600 per vehicle for the 2023 Dodge Police Durango.
A bid from Plymouth Oliver Ford Lincoln came in for $45,349 per vehicle for the 2023 Ford F150 4X4.
A bid from Rochester Mike Anderson Auto Group came in for $35,154.20 per vehicle for the 2023 Dodge Police Charger and $41,851.20 per vehicle for the 2023 Dodge Police Durango.
A bid from Plymouth Auto Park came in for $35,654 per vehicle for the 2023 Dodge Police Charger and $39,411 per vehicle for the 2023 Dodge Police Durango.
Chief Bacon noted that with inflation vehicles have gone up in price. He requested permission from the board to consult with Plymouth Clerk-Treasurer Lynn Gorski to review the 2023 budget commitment and constraints, review the bids, place the order, and report back to the board with the final decision at the next meeting.
The board approved his request.
In other news Chief Bacon updated the board that Officer Shannon Gilmer has resigned and worked her last shift on Sunday, February 12. Officer Gilmer had over 19 years with PPD and took a position in South Bend.
Chief Bacon requested permission to extend two conditional offers of employment to individuals with relevant work experience. His request was approved.
