Another round of funding is available to expand broadband coverage in Indiana. The state is now accepting applications for the third round of Next Level Connections Broadband grants, according to a press release from the Governor’s Office.
Telecommunications providers and utility cooperatives can apply for up to $5 million for projects that expand broadband to customers who can’t currently get it. A total of $270 million is expected to be available. Funding was allocated by the General Assembly as part of the state budget. Letters of intent are due by September 24.
The Governor’s Office says the $79 million awarded during the first two rounds of Next Level Connections Broadband grants will help bring broadband to more than 22,000 homes, businesses, schools, and other customers.
