New COVID-19 cases continue to be reported in Marshall, Starke, and Pulaski counties. Marshall County had another nine, while Starke and Pulaski counties each had two, according to Friday’s update from the Indiana Department of Health.
Seven-day, all-test positivity rates remain in the single digits: 1.9 percent in Marshall County, 7.3 percent in Starke County, and 4.2 percent in Pulaski County. Rates are higher when limited to unique individuals.
Another 879 cases were reported statewide, pushing the total over 665,000. Another 32 Hoosiers have died, bringing Indiana’s total confirmed death count to 12,263.
The vaccine distribution continues. Marshall County has had almost 6,400 residents get the first dose, with more than 4,400 fully vaccinated. Almost 3,000 Starke County residents have gotten the first dose; more than 1,500 of them are fully vaccinated. Pulaski County is reporting more than 2,200 first doses and more than 1,500 residents fully vaccinated.
Hoosiers age 50 and older can sign up for the vaccine at ourshot.in.gov or by calling 211. As of Friday, appointments remain at the mass vaccination clinic planned at Notre Dame on March 26 and 27. A mass vaccination clinic is planned in Gary on the weekend on March 20.
