Marshall County Reports 100th COVID-19 Death

Marshall County has reported its 100th COVID-19 death. The death occurred February 1, according to Tuesday’s update from the Indiana Department of Health. Starke County’s COVID-19 death toll remains at 50, while Pulaski County’s stands at 40.

The number of newly-reported cases remains in the single digits in all three counties, with seven new cases in Marshall County, three in Starke County, and five in Pulaski County. The seven-day all-test positivity rates are below six percent in all three counties.

Another 67 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died, bringing Indiana’s total confirmed death count to 11,526. That number goes up to 11,942, if probable deaths are included.

Meanwhile, the vaccine distribution continues. More than 4,500 Marshall County residents, almost 1,900 Starke County residents, and almost 1,600 Pulaski County residents have received their first dose as of Tuesday morning. More than 1,300 Marshall County residents are now fully vaccinated, along with almost 300 in Starke County and over 300 in Pulaski County.
