Two more Starke County residents have died while positive for COVID-19. Both of those deaths occurred on Wednesday, according to Thursday’s update from the Indiana Department of Health. Another 14 positive cases were reported in Starke County, bringing the total to 1,358.
Marshall County added 35 cases, bringing its count to 4,121, and Pulaski County is now up to 700 COVID-19 cases, with 15 cases added to the count on Thursday.
Local positivity rates appear to be holding steady or trending down slightly. Marshall County currently has the lowest seven-day positivity rate in the state at 6.7 percent, but its rate is significantly higher than the state average when limited to unique individuals, at 32.4 percent.
The state as a whole added almost 6,500 COVID-19 cases to its count Thursday, pushing the total over 447,000. Another 79 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died, bringing the total confirmed death count to 6,860.
