Another Starke County resident has died while positive for COVID-19. That brings the county’s total COVID-19 death count up to 29, according to Friday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health. It’s one of 71 new deaths reported statewide, bringing the state total to 6,373.
The number of new cases remains in the double digits in Starke, Marshall, and Pulaski counties. Another 76 Marshall County residents have tested positive, for a new total of 3,865. Starke County had 24 new positive cases, for a total of 1,254, while Pulaski County had another 13 cases, bringing the total to 610.
Starke County’s seven-day positivity rate as calculated by the Indiana Department of Health is now above 20 percent. Pulaski County’s is almost 14 percent, and Marshall County’s is a little more than eight percent. But that rate rises to over 30 percent in all three counties, when limited to unique individuals.
More than 412,000 Hoosiers have tested positive for COVID-19 since March.
