A Pierceton man is dead after the pickup truck he was driving reportedly crashed into a tree and caught fire in Marshall County. Marshall County Police say they were called to the 600 block of 14B Road just before 9:15 Friday night.
Officers say Gene Burkett, 68, was found to be dead at the scene. Coroner John Grolich says Burkett apparently experienced a medical emergency prior to the crash.
The Tippecanoe and Bourbon fire departments, along with Lutheran EMS also responded to the scene.
