Fewer Marshall County residents were employed in November than the month before, even as the unemployment rate continued to drop. The county’s November unemployment rate was 4.2 percent, according to the latest report from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.
That’s down from a revised rate of 4.6 percent in October. But the number of people in the workforce also went down, and the estimated number of Marshall County residents working dropped by 214 from October to November.
The trend was similar around Indiana. The state had a non-seasonally adjusted rate of 4.9 percent last month. St. Joseph County had the highest unemployment rate of Marshall County’s neighbors at 6.1 percent, while Kosciusko County’s was lowest at 4.3 percent.
