The number of Marshall County residents who’ve died from COVID-19 is now up to 46. Two more deaths were reported in the county, in the Thanksgiving Day update from the Indiana Department of Health. However, both of those actually occurred in October.
Another 90 Marshall County residents have tested positive, the county’s second-highest single-day increase since the pandemic began. That brings the county to a total of 3,081 cases. Another 19 Starke County residents have tested positive for a total of 940, while Pulaski County had another 16 positive cases, bringing the total to 411.
The seven-day positivity rates in all three counties continue to decline slightly, according to the Indiana Department of Health’s calculations. Marshall County is down to 7.9 percent, Starke County is at 10.3 percent, and Pulaski County is at 9.8 percent for all tests.
The state as a whole reported another 6,434 positive cases of COVID-19 Thursday, for a new total of 318,894. Another 63 Hoosiers have died, bringing the total confirmed death count to 5,295. The number of COVID-19 patients in the hospital continues to increase, with 3,384 patients as of Wednesday.
