Marshall County’s unemployment rate continues to drop. Its October unemployment rate was 4.2 percent, according to the latest report from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.
That’s down from a revised rate of five percent the month before, but significantly higher than the 2.8 percent reported during the same period last year. The number of Marshall County residents employed also increased from September to October, and the labor force grew slightly.
The trend was similar around Indiana. The state had a non-seasonally adjusted rate of 4.8 percent last month, while the U.S. rate was 6.6 percent. St. Joseph County has the highest unemployment rate of Marshall County’s neighbors at 6.1 percent, while Kosciusko County’s was lowest at four percent.
