Another 30 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Marshall County. That brings the county’s total to 3,179, according to Sunday’s update from the Indiana Department of Health. Another eight Pulaski County residents have tested positive, for a new total of 442. Starke County added five cases, bringing the total to 966.
The seven-day positivity rate calculated by the Indiana Department of Health rose to 13.5 percent in Starke County and 10.2 percent in Pulaski County, but dropped to seven percent in Marshall County.
The state as a whole reported another 4,335 positive cases, for a new total of 333,312. Another 24 Hoosiers have died, bringing the state’s total confirmed death count to 5,418. A backlog of more than 4,000 negative tests from more than 2,200 individuals was officially added onto the state’s dashboard Sunday.
While Indiana has seen a dip in new cases over the Thanksgiving holiday, the number of COVID-19 patients in the hospital continues to increase, reaching a new record of 3,392 on Saturday.
