The Marshall County Economic Development Corporation has picked a new president and CEO. Dax Norton will take over the position toward the end of December, the corporation announced Wednesday.
He has nearly 20 years of experience, including stints with the Town of Whitestown, the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs, Boone and Blackford counties’ economic development corporations, and the Bloomington Chamber of Commerce. For the past two years, he’s served as a municipal operations and economic development consultant with ms consultants.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Norton said he is “humbled and excited to be given this opportunity to assist community leaders as they turn economic and community development vision into sustainable reality.”
He replaces Jerry Chavez, who stepped down last month after six years with the corporation.
