The Marshall County Board of Health is voicing its support for the county’s new face mask rules. In a letter Monday, the seven board members say they unanimously support Dr. Byron Holm’s business mask ordinance, and they encourage all residents to protect one another through proper mask wearing.
They note that Marshall County is approaching the point where patients will have to be turned away from hospitals, due to a lack of beds and staff. They add that science clearly demonstrates that masks significantly reduce the spread of the coronavirus, which is evident in Asian countries where public mask wearing is universal.
The board of health is also recommending that holiday gatherings be limited to immediate family this year.
