Another Marshall County resident has died as a result of COVID-19. That brings the county’s total number of deaths up to 39, according to Thursday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health.
An additional 59 Marshall County residents have tested positive, bringing the total to almost 2,700. Starke County reported another 21 positive cases for a total of 825, while Pulaski County had eight more positive cases for a total of 343.
The state as a whole reported its second-highest single-day increase Thursday, with another 7,420 Hoosiers testing positive. More than 275,000 Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 since the pandemic began. The number of hospitalizations continues to increase, with 3,063 COVID-19 patients in Indiana hospitals, as of Wednesday. Another 59 Hoosiers have died, bringing the state’s total confirmed death toll to 4,889.
