Another COVID-19 Death Reported in Marshall County

Another Marshall County resident has died from COVID-19. That brings the county’s total number of coronavirus deaths to 34, according to Friday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health.

Another 60 Marshall County residents have tested positive, for a new total of 2,263. Starke County reported 28 new COVID-19 cases Friday, a new single-day record. That brings the county’s total up to 719. Pulaski County has now surpassed 300 COVID-19 cases, with 10 new ones reported Friday.

The state as a whole had its second-highest single-day increase, with more than 5,700 new positive cases. More than 236,000 Hoosiers have tested positive since the pandemic began.

The seven-day positivity rate calculated by the Indiana Department of Health is now at 10.6 percent but almost double that when limited to unique individuals. Another 50 Hoosiers have died, bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 deaths to 4,613.
