A woman was airlifted and a juvenile was taken to the hospital, after an ATV crash near Culver Thursday. Indiana Conservation Officers say it happened just after 5:00 p.m. in the 16000 block of Redwood Road.
Investigators believe Carrie Pennington, 44, was operating the vehicle on private property with a juvenile passenger. She was apparently trying to maneuver a turn on a trail, when the ATV flipped onto its side.
They were able to free themselves and walk to the road, according to officers, where they were met by EMS.
Pennington was airlifted to Fort Wayne Lutheran Hospital’s burn center. Family members took the juvenile to St. Joseph Regional Hospital in Plymouth for evaluation.
Culver Fire and EMS and Memorial Hospital Med Flight assisted conservation officers at the scene.
