Two Indiana agricultural cooperatives have announced plans to merge. Co-Alliance and Harvest Land say they’ve reached an agreement, with a hope of completing a merger in 2021. Due diligence is expected to start in the coming months.
The CEOs of the two co-ops said in a press release Thursday that the merger will bring more opportunities for their members, beyond what each of them could offer on their own. The merger would also bring added efficiencies to their various services, according to co-op officials.
Co-Alliance serves farmers and customers in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Illinois, while Harvest Land operates in East Central Indiana and Southwest Ohio. The press release notes that they’ve already partnered on an agronomy retailer called United Agronomy Services.
