Another 15 Marshall County residents have tested positive for COVID-19. That brings the county’s total number of cases up to 276, according to Friday’s report from the Indiana State Department of Health.
More than 10 percent of Marshall County’s COVID-19 tests have come back positive, which is a lower rate than the state as a whole. But Marshall County has had more COVID-19 cases per capita than any of its neighbors except for Elkhart County. More than three-quarters of Marshall County residents who’ve tested positive for COVID-19 have been under the age of 50.
Pulaski County has had 52 residents test positive, while Starke County has had 48.
The state as a whole is now up to 39,146 COVID-19 cases and 2,214 deaths. Another 182 deaths are believed to be related to COVID-19, but there was no positive test. Almost 74 percent of Indiana’s COVID-19 patients are believed to have recovered, according to the Regenstrief Institute.
