Switching drivers during a traffic stop was apparently not enough to keep some Plymouth teenagers out of trouble early Sunday morning. Marshall County sheriff’s deputies say they pulled over a vehicle near the intersection of Harrison Street and Oak Drive around 4:20 a.m. But before the car came to a complete stop, police say the driver switched seats with another male subject.
Officers say they found alcohol in the vehicle, and they believe the initial juvenile driver was under the influence. He was reportedly taken to the hospital for a certified test and then released.
The second driver, Anthony Ryan Griffin, 19, allegedly didn’t have a license. He’s now also accused of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and illegal consumption of an alcoholic beverage. Griffin was booked into the Marshall County Jail.
A female juvenile was also reportedly in the vehicle at the time. Police say more charges may be forthcoming.
