The number of COVID-19 cases in Marshall and Pulaski counties continues to increase. Pulaski County has had 29 residents test positive, according to Sunday’s report from the Indiana State Department of Health, an increase of three from the previous day. Marshall County added one case, bringing the total to 31 with one death.
Cass County is approaching 1,300 COVID-19 cases, with 70 new cases reported Sunday. LaPorte and White counties each had more than 20 new cases.
The Westville Correctional Facility has now had 156 offenders and 50 employees test positive for COVID-19, according to the Indiana Department of Correction website. Most have reportedly recovered, but three offenders there have died.
The state as a whole reported 645 more positive cases Sunday, with 17 additional deaths. Almost 20,000 Hoosiers have now tested positive, with a total number of deaths over 1,100. Another 114 deaths are believed to be COVID-19-related, but have no positive test on record.
