The State of Indiana is working with two major retailers to bring grocery delivery service to residents using the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Family and Social Services Administration Secretary Dr. Jennifer Sullivan says testing of the new SNAP delivery program will start early next week, and so far, the state has letters of intent from Amazon and Walmart.
“We have two assigned partners currently, and we’ll work very quickly to bring more on board as that program grows,” Sullivan said during state officials’ COVID-19 press conference Wednesday. “We already have curbside pickup available across most parts of the state but are working very diligently to make sure that we have on-boarded stores for SNAP delivery programs.”
Sullivan again said that the delivery feature will remain in place after the COVID-19 pandemic.
