A minor had to be rescued from the Tippecanoe River by hovercraft Saturday afternoon. In a Facebook post, the Monterey Fire & Rescue Team says that at 3:11 p.m. Saturday, it got a report of a minor in the water stuck on a logjam and was on the scene within two minutes.
At first, they asked the Culver-Union Township Fire Department to help with a boat, but due to the high and fast-moving water, ended up requesting the hovercraft. The Indiana Department of Natural Resources and Culver-Union Township EMS also responded.
The Monterey Fire & Rescue Team says there were no injuries and everyone walked away unharmed.
