State officials say they’re making sure that those who need food assistance can continue to get it during the COVID-19 pandemic. Indiana Family & Social Services Secretary Dr. Jennifer Sullivan says the state has seen an increase in applications for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or SNAP.
“We released guidance over the last week to make sure that anyone who is currently on SNAP will continue to receive those maximum benefits over the next three months,” Sullivan said during state officials’ COVID-19 press conference Wednesday. “Those federal funds continue to come through to Indiana, and we will continue to utilize them for everyone who needs them.”
Sullivan said the FSSA continues to evaluate benefits on a daily basis.
