The Triton School Board recently decided to buy back a bus that was previously approved for a trade in, according to Superintendent Jeremy Riffle.
The superintendent explained, “That was actually the bus that we had approved in August to trade in but due to some of our routes getting filled up we purchased that back at the same value that they were going to give us for the trade in.”
School officials were able to buy back the sixty-six passenger bus for what the trade in was quoted at which was $5,500.
Additionally, in order to help identify issues in the fleet in house, the school board approved the purchase of a diagnostic scanner.
Riffle shared, “That’s just going to allow us to diagnose a lot of the problems ourselves, on our buses, so hopefully it will save us from having to farm a lot of that out.”
He added that the cost of the scanner was $7,495.
