John Glenn, Bremen School Corporations Lead Area in 2019 Graduation Rates

Indiana’s 2019 graduation rates were released by the Department of Education Tuesday.

Of the school districts serving Marshall County, John Glenn had the highest total graduation rate at 94.9 percent, followed by Bremen Public Schools at 92.9 percent.

The Union-North United School Corporation had the lowest at 84.2 percent, followed by Argos at 85.7 percent. Plymouth’s graduation rate rose about half a percentage point to 92.2 percent.

Argos, Plymouth, and John Glenn all saw their total graduation rates improve from 2018 to 2019, while Culver, Bremen, Triton, and Union-North saw declines.

The state as a whole saw a graduation rate of 87.3 percent, a slight drop from 2018. In a statement, State Superintendent Dr. Jennifer McCormick said there is still work to be done, and the Department of Education will continue to commit resources to local districts.

The department also released a separate set of federally-calculated graduation rates, which are based on slightly different accountability equations and standards. Each set of graduation rates, including various breakdowns of state, corporation, and school level data is available on the Indiana Department of Education website.
